Mfg. Process Technician

Overview of position:

The Manufacturing Process Technician to be responsible for the health and performance of our sophisticated manufacturing assets. The successful candidate will be able to improve industrial processes to maintain efficiency, reduce cost, improve sustainability and maximize profitability. The Manufacturing Process Technician will be the technical “owner” of the specified equipment working in conjunction with maintenance and operators to maintain equipment health and reliability. The Manufacturing Process Technician will also operate the equipment as needed in support of the production Zone.

Responsibilities:
• Technical specialist in machine repair and diagnosis of performance deficiencies
• Operate the equipment as needed in support of the production Zone.
• Perform OM/PM maintenance functions in support of the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) program
• Assess processes, take measurements and interpret data
• Develop best practices, Standard Work Instructions (SWI), routines and innovative solutions to improve production rates and quality of output to support Zone Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) metrics
• Develop, configure, and optimize industrial processes such as set up, change over, maintenance, repair, replacement of parts.
• Create and modify programs and “jobs” for machine production runs
• Measure, capture, and report machine performance and reliability metrics such as OEE, MTBF, MTTR
• Assists in the documentation and scheduling of maintenance in conjunction with Production and Maintenance
• Perform risk assessments in the form of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)

Requirements:
• Experience with metal forming and fabrication equipment and processes
o Laser cutting, Turret Punch, Robotics, & Press Brake
• BLM Tube Laser Experience a plus
• Trumpf TruPunch &/or TruBend experience a plus
• OTC &/or ABB Robotic experience a plus
• Experience with PLC aka Level 1 Automation programming and HMI and control system technologies, preferred experience with Siemens, Allen Bradley
• Experience in the design, configuration, alignment, commissioning, maintenance and repair of discrete manufacturing equipment
• Experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment
• Proven and demonstrable work experience in process engineering
• Excellent problem-solving skills with experience in Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) using a structured problem-solving methodology such as Six Sigma, Shainin, 8D, and/or A3
• Experience with Equipment performance and reliability metrics such as OEE, MTBF, and MTTR
• Experience in supporting equipment health through the implementation of a TPM maintenance program
• Excellent technical skills
• Knowledge of process related standards
• SolidWorks, AutoCad skills
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations (OSHA)
• Analytical thinker with excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to function well in a Team setting
