SixAxis, the parent company of industrial safety brands SafeRack, ErectaStep, and Upside Innovations, today announced the launch of ErectaStep ProXL — a new line of pre-engineered, bolt-together access platforms built in the U.S.A. to meet the most common elevated access needs in industrial environments. The launch represents the latest extension of ErectaStep’s growing product portfolio and reinforces SixAxis’s long-standing commitment to American manufacturing.
ProXL joins ErectaStep’s established lineup of modular stairs, work platforms, crossovers, ladders, and access systems — alongside sister brands RollaStep (mobile rolling stairs and platforms) and YellowGate (industrial safety gates) — to deliver one of the most complete safety and access solution suites available to North American manufacturers.
STRENGTHENING AN ALREADY STRONG PRODUCT LINE
ErectaStep has spent more than two decades earning its position as a leading manufacturer of industrial safety and access solutions. ProXL builds on that foundation by giving customers an even faster path to OSHA-compliant access for the applications they encounter most often — power generator access, modular buildings and job trailers, valves and maintenance points, catwalks, and elevated walkways.
Instead of custom-engineering or configuring every platform from scratch, ProXL offers a set of popular configurations that ship quickly and install in a matter of days. The result is a product line that meets customers where they are — with the standard ErectaStep solutions they already know, plus a faster path for the jobs that don’t require custom design.
| AMERICAN-MADE FROM THE GROUND UP Every ProXL platform is designed, engineered, and manufactured in the United States, using industrial-grade aluminum sourced from American suppliers wherever possible. ProXL is built at SixAxis’s facilities and shipped directly from the U.S. to authorized distributors across North America. For SixAxis, American manufacturing is more than a label — it’s how the company delivers shorter lead times, tighter quality control, and dependable supply for customers in mission-critical industries like power generation, water treatment, oil and gas, transportation, and defense. |
WHY THIS LAUNCH MATTERS
- Broader access portfolio. Customers can specify ErectaStep across more applications, with fewer compromises between custom and off-the-shelf.
- Faster project timelines. Pre-engineered, popular configurations ship quickly and bolt together with hand tools — often in the same week.
- OSHA compliance built in. Every ProXL configuration meets or exceeds OSHA 1910 Subpart D requirements out of the crate.
- Domestic supply chain. American materials, American manufacturing, and American jobs — supporting customers who prioritize Made in the USA sourcing.
- Distributor enablement. Authorized distributors now have a faster path to quote, deliver, and support customers in the most common access scenarios.
BUILT FOR THE CUSTOMERS ERECTASTEP ALREADY SERVES
ProXL is designed for the industries SixAxis brands serve every day — manufacturing, energy, water and wastewater, chemical processing, food and beverage, life sciences, transportation, and government. It pairs naturally with YellowGate safety gates for added fall protection at platform openings, and complements RollaStep’s mobile access solutions for projects that need both fixed and rolling platforms.
Like all SixAxis-brand products, ProXL is sold through a network of authorized distributors, supported by ErectaStep’s in-house product experts who stay engaged through quoting, install, and ongoing technical support.
PART OF SIXAXIS’S ONGOING INVESTMENT IN SAFETY AND ACCESS
The ProXL launch follows a series of investments across the SixAxis brand portfolio, including SafeRack’s GXm modular gangway, RollaStep’s compact 3×3 mobile work platform, and recent leadership additions across the organization. Together, these initiatives reflect SixAxis’s continued investment in American-made industrial safety solutions — and in the people and infrastructure that bring them to market.
WHAT PROXL IS
ProXL is a pre-engineered access platform available in popular configurations, each with 1 to 6 step heights to match the elevation required by your application. Adjustable legs add ±3″ of fine adjustment in 1″ increments, dialing in level footing on uneven ground and setting the walk surface to the right height for the job.
Handrails and stairs reposition to suit the site, giving teams the flexibility to fit the platform to the equipment — not the other way around. The aggressive-traction, non-slip platform surface keeps footing sure in any condition, indoors or out. Pre-engineered to OSHA standards and easy to bolt together with hand tools, ProXL ships quickly and installs in days, not weeks.

Standard ProXL
Platform: 8′ × 3′ 9″
Most common footprint. Stair and handrail positioned to suit site requirements.

Wide ProXL
Platform: 7′ 6″ × 4′
Wider footprint with added clearance to accommodate 36″ generator doors while maintaining OSHA-required clearance. Stair and handrail positioned to suit.

Catwalk
Platform: 16′ × 3′ 9″
Extended-run access for inline equipment, valves, and maintenance points along a single elevation.

L / Corner
Platform: 8′ × 11′ 3″
Wraps around equipment for multi-side access at the same elevation.
